About Liz Espey

Liz Hunt grew up in the town of Maryville, Mo where she has worked along side her family of auctioneers since the young age of six years old when she sold her first item. She completed her high school education at Maryville High School in 2011. Soon after receiving her diploma, she started attending, Northwest Missouri State University, where she worked towards her B.S. Degree in Agricultural Science.

 

With the knowledge that she has gained and the guidance from her family, she is now a 5th generation auctioneer. In November of 2015, she attended the (WWCA) World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, IA where she graduated. She received a Degree in Auctioneering as well as one in Bilingual Auctioneering. During her time there she trained with the champions! She gained knowledge in an abundance of fields such as history of auctioneering, auction law, appraisals, auction marketing, and real estate. Liz has preformed every task there is in the auction industry from clerking, ring man, auctioneer, set up, marketing merchandise, internet cataloging of items, working with buyers and sellers. That’s just to name a few! After graduation from WWCA, she has worked closely with her father, Steve Espey, and has branched out to create a name for herself with her own company.

Soon after completing her education at WWCA she went to work for Big Dog Auctions, LLC. in St. Joseph, MO. She was and auctioneer and also their Ringman and Auctioneer for their weekly auto auctions. After her time at Big Dog, Liz started working for, Miline-Dinsdale Seed, LLC, as an assistant in seed sales, in addition she also works of their sister company, Crosswise Consulting, LLC., in soil testing and FieldX mapping. Liz gains hands on experience working for the crop industry. She also worked for Fastenal as their Sales Associate in Maryville, Mo serving all of the major factories in the Northwest Missouri area. Today, she is the Engineer of Architectural Design at Robbins Lightening, Inc. in Maryville. There she designs lightning protection grids for buildings.

On December 8, 2016, Liz had the privilege to sell for the Guinness World Record Auction, "Most Nationalities in an Auction Team at an Auction (Single Venue)". She represented the, Cherokee Indian Nation, during this event!

On top of being apart of a Guinness World Record Auction, she also competed as a contestant on CBS daytime TV show, The Amazing Race on Season 29! Liz used her skill as an Auctioneer to help her on the race! Watch the show on CBS Thursdays at 10/9c for all of the details! This will definitely be an adventure of a lifetime!

Liz is also a proud member of the NAA (National Auctioneers Association), IAA (Iowa Auctioneers Association), and the MPAA (Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association). She has traveled to the National Auctioneer Association Conventions and plans to further her education at the up coming convention!

On top of working in the auction profession she spends lots of time with her husband Kyle Hunt and her son Myles. Liz loves working in the auction industry and is currently introducing her son Myles into the auction profession! With high hopes that he will continue the family tradition and become a 6th generation auctioneer!
